Job Purpose:

To teach and assess across the Agriculture curriculum. To provide specific support for the development of Agricultural provision. This role may include Higher Education teaching and course management responsibilities dependent on experience.

Reports to: Head of Department:  Agriculture, Animal Welfare and Science & Deputy Head of Agriculture

Grade/Salary: £20,760 - £26,224 per annum, pro rata, which is point L4b – L9c on the Academic Staff Salary Scale. ERA available for specialism teaching

Hours: Up to 2.6 fraction available (96.2 hours per week) worked over Monday - Friday with flexibility to meet the business needs. This could comprise of 2 x 37 hour per week and 1 x 22.2 hours per week vacancies – Please clearly identify whether you are seeking part time or full time hours on your application form and give an indication of the number of hours you are interested in.

Status: Permanent

Vision: For this role, we are looking enthusiastic and self-motivated agriculture lecturers with the ability to deliver high quality, inspiring lectures and practical teaching sessions at Levels 1-4. Much of this
teaching will take place on the College’s own 280ha commercially run mixed farm. Teaching will cover a range of agriculture units, arable and machinery in particular. A flexible and positive attitude is required alongside the ability to challenge and motivate students. The role promises a varied and interesting workload.

The successful applicant will have plenty of vocational experience as well as being able to demonstrate excellent communication, administrative and organisational abilities in order to perform the role successfully.  The role would suit someone who has worked in industry and is now seeking a new challenge. Teaching qualifications and an agricultural (or similar) qualification at degree level are both desirable.
