Programme Leader Agriculture (Academy of Land and Environment)

Reaseheath College is one of the leading providers of Agriculture and Land Based training and education in the UK.  Sitting within the new Academy of Land and Environment and with ongoing developments within our multi enterprise college farm, including a new multi-million-pound investment into robotic milking and vertical farming this an exciting time to join this forward thinking and innovative team.

This role is responsible for leading a high performing team of curriculum staff and leasing with the farm manager to ensure that the curriculum is delivered effectively alongside the farm business. The role requires delivery of a wide range of Agricultural qualifications therefore a sound knowledge of the new RQF and apprenticeship standards would be beneficial, as would a teaching qualification. Where there is a requirement the successful candidate must be willing to undertake teacher training. 

The department has close industry links and access to our own College farm. Reaseheath also has very close links with the dairy production industry. Our dairy production halls are responsible for training dairy operation technicians for most major dairy producers in the UK including Muller and Arla. The Parlour safe MEA qualification sees dairy engineers from all the major manufactures also use the Farm and College Facility.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Modern Multi-system Dairy Production
  • Robotics and Data Analysis
  • Beef / sheep production
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Agronomy and advanced crop production
  • Arable operations
  • Soils science
  • Anerobic Digestion
  • Financial planning and Business Management
  • Research and Innovation including overseeing research work up to level 6  
  • Environmental Science and management
  • Sustainable technology and management

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of working within an Agricultural or Land-based educational environment, ideally in a training or supervisory/managerial role.  We are looking for excellent communication skills, flexibility of approach, excellent IT skills with an eye for detail and good organisational skills.
