Experienced Herdsperson is required to help manage our 350 milking herd milked through 6 fullwood robots & 300 young stock
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our small team as Herdsperson. We are located near Northallerton North Yorkshire. A 2 bedroom barn conversion is available on site and will become available in early August. You must be pro active with attention to detail in all aspects of Herd welfare. The job will be offered permanent after a successful probation with a competitive salary and regular time off.
Responsibilities
- All aspects of Health and welfare
- Pro-active approach to problem cows (lameness,Mastitis etc)
- Drying off
- Drenching of newly calved or sick animals
- Milk production analysis
- Calf management
Candidate requirements
- Experienced dairy herd person
- Available to live onsite and provide cover for farm owner
- Responsible & Reliable
- Assertive & pro active
- Computer literate
- Competent tractor driver
- General maintenance skills desirable
