Brief description of your role (what you need to do)

This is a ‘hands-on’ role requiring the daily operation of the composting plant and machinery at the Ardley (IVC) Site.  You will be supporting the processing of co-mingled food and green waste, creating desirable quality compost which benefits the agricultural sector and diverts waste from landfill. Your responsibility is to ensure the site you is clean, tidy and free of litter and give any general assistance as directed by the Site Manager.  To assist the site in working towards PAS100 standards.  This includes maintenance, health, welfare, safety legislative and environmental issues.

This full-time role will be based at Ardley IVC. The core hours are 07.00 – 17.00 Monday – Friday, with occasional weekends and bank holidays. 

Major responsibilities 

  • To remove any contaminant out of the product by manual picking of litter
  • To give general assistance as needed in working towards PAS100 standards.  
  • To maintain and upkeep the general cleanliness and first impression of the site by mowing, strimming and pressure washing as required. 
  • To give general assistance to ensure the Site complies with maintenance, health, welfare, safety, legislative and environmental requirements.
  • Assist the Team in ensuring the Company’s BMS and site compliance is adhered to
  • Assist the Team in meeting Site financial targets
  • General assistance across Severn Trent Green Power Sites and various other contracts as and when required in order to ensure the smooth running of STGP contracts as a whole
  • Ensuring compliance of the Company’s environmental, health and safety and personnel policies and procedures in your work.

* You must not operate any equipment until your Line Manager has confirmed you are competent to do so safely.
