This role offers opportunities to manage both existing and establish new enterprises.

It would suit someone with experience of livestock and a good understanding of and commitment to regenerative farming systems.

Newly converted spacious two bedroom accommodation on site at .  Good base salary reflecting experience, with opportunities for profit share encouraged.

The Farms

Each farm is 250 – 300 acres, totalling 850 acres.  All three are focussed on regenerative farming methods. One is currently under contract farming and the owner wishes to introduce cattle as a key driver to focussing on soil health and regeneration.  Another has sheep and cattle and has opportunities to develop poultry and pig enterprises.  There is also the possibility of a shop.  Romshed Farm, which is where the post will be based, has cattle and sheep and a strong interest in biodiversity for its own sake and as a driver in the farm business.  All are 20 minutes drive from each other.

Our vision for the three farms

Our vision is to work together to maximise the opportunities from collaborative working.  We are all interested in taking a share farming/profit share approach to the role for the right person.  Two of us are certified both organic and Pasture for Life and the third wishes to go that way.  One farm has an existing young worker who will be part of the mix.


To take a lead on making and implementing management decisions

To ensure the daily management of all stock, including grazing management based on rotational principles, is of a high standard

To take on responsibility for estate management work – wooding, fencing, building maintenance

To maintain and keep up to date paperwork and record keeping.

To help run educational visits

To ‘muck in’ as necessary to ensure the farms run smoothly

Essential Skills & Attributes

At least three years experience of working with cattle and sheep

A keen interest in and passion for regenerative farming methods and being open to new ideas

Practical, sociable, responsible and self motivated

Confident working alone or with others

An excellent communicator and good collaborator

Experience of record keeping

Driving and trailer licence

Competence in driving tractor, quad bike, chainsaw etc

Desirable Skills & Attributes

Knowledge and experience of organic farming and/or rotational grazing systems

Experience of having taken on responsibility and developing a business

A passion for wildlife and monitoring progress towards soil and habitat change and enhancement
