Consumer Marketing Executive

The Role
The principal focus of the role is to deliver consumer marketing activity across the Agriconnect portfolio, in line with the key responsibilities outlined below.

You will be utilising a variety of marketing channels including - print, email, social media and physical events to promote Farmers Guardian magazine subscriptions to prospective customers as well as communicate with existing subscribers the key benefits of their package.

In order to succeed in this role, you will need to display excellent communication and organisational skills and demonstrate a commercial focus and understanding of how to deliver subscriber growth through collaboration with the content leads to create perfectly profiled audiences and highly engaged sales propositions, reliably informed by data and analysis.

Specific responsibilities

  • Create awareness of and develop the Farmers Guardian brand.
  • Increase awareness and engagement of subscription benefits to readers.
  • Communicate with, build and develop relationships with our readers through a variety of marketing channels
  • Support the marketing manager in delivering agreed activities as well as working closely with the wider marketing team to deliver projects.
  • Understand and develop a variety of customer journeys identifying ways they can be improved.
  • Understand and develop our audience and database and segment them for targeted campaigns.
  • Develop an understanding of the agricultural sector to help identify promotional opportunities
  • Utilise email marketing and automation to communicate with existing customers as well as drive website traffic and conversions for prospective customers.
  • Work closely with in-house or external creative agencies to design marketing materials such as house adverts, carrier sheets and digital artwork.
  • Write and proofread marketing copy for both online and print campaigns
  • Work with the social media manager to promote Farmers Guardian to enhance audience engagement and develop an organic social media strategy.
  • Organise and attend events such as conferences, seminars and exhibitions managing working with a third-party promo team.
  • Arrange the effective distribution of marketing materials to different events and with media partners.

Essential skills

  • ROI driven approach to marketing
  • Experience using marketing systems including, ESP, social media, Automation CRM, CMS and Google Analytics
  • Ability to create solutions to problems and make continuous improvements to processes
  • Understanding of good design and customer journeys both online and offline
  • Ability to communicate well with editorial and sales teams and work closely as part of a team to deliver success on all campaign activity
  • Committed to building and maintaining quality data and using sophisticated database marketing techniques to achieve targets
  • Target orientated, focused on delivering consumer & subscription budgets
  • Very organised and focussed on delivery to deadline
  • Ability to manage a budget and work with suppliers to deliver events
  • Genuine team player, always ready to engage and successfully deliver projects
  • Motivated by making things happen and getting results
  • Good with people, able to win trust quickly and add real value to the team
  • Must be available for occasional travel to events in the UK
