This family farm in Wiltshire has been widely recognised for excellent grass management and now requires an additional person to join the team.  There will be opportunities to develop your skills in both grass and cow management.  You will be encouraged to participate in various discussion groups the farm belong to and access any training required.  You must enjoy milking and you will share milking duties through a modern 36:72 parlour with ACRs and feeders.  Other duties undertaken by the team include feeding, bedding of cubicles with a straw chopper and other stock tasks including calf rearing.  There is a strong emphasis on efficient milk from grass and cows calve in autumn and spring blocks to satisfy a Cadbury’s milk contract.  Some fodder beet is grown to outwinter spring calvers and the herd is rotationally grazed with an excellent network of cow tracks and paddocks to maximise production from grass.  Milking is a two person operation in the parlour.  Cows are out grazing from late February to December.

A good package is available with flexible time off to include 100-days off per year and there is a modern 1 bedroom house with D/G and C/H in a pretty village with PO, shop and pub 3miles away. This will be provided free from rent and council tax.
