We have a new contract vacancy for an experienced person to join a family farming operation between Sherborne in Dorset, and Wincanton.
This 450-cow herd of Holsteins are AYR calving and yielding 9,500 litres on 2 x milking, via a recently built 34 x 34 Fullwood parlour.
Cows are housed in excellent sand bedded cubicles, and grazed during summer months.
The appointed person will be required to milk with an assistant, and take day-to-day control of all herd related duties, with input from hands on farmer.
This position could suit a couple very well as there is work for a partner.
A competitive package to go along with a 3-bedroom semi-detached house on farm is on offer.
