Head of Livestock
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Livestock on a unique Mid-Norfolk Mixed Farm comprising of 300 suckler cows taking progeny through to slaughter, 800 breeding ewes and an additional 4000 store lambs to finish during the winter on root crops.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of maintaining excellent livestock health & welfare, record keeping and enjoy management of grassland.
The responsibilities involved will mean you would need to be organised and a good communicator who excels in a team environment, with experience of managing a team. The role is hands on, so the appropriate skills and qualifications will be required, although additional training could be given to a suitable candidate.
Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload is essential. Attention to detail and an ability to use own initiative will be important, together with accurate record keeping skills. Trailer licence is essential and a working dog would be an advantage. We are seeking someone motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking.
A 3 bedroom house will be available within a short distance of the farm alongside a competitive remuneration package.
