Shepherd

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shepherd on a unique Mid-Norfolk Mixed Farm comprising of 800 breeding ewes and an additional 4000 store lambs to finish during the winter on root crops.

This role would involve primary responsibility of the day-to-day care and welfare of the stock. You will be expected to work independently and make your own decisions, whilst also working as part of a team and reporting to the Head of Livestock. Work will involve weighing, vaccinating, feet trimming, selecting sheep for market, lambing, fencing and general farm duties. Initiative and attention to detail are important. 

As well as working with the sheep, you will be expected to assist with the cattle duties when required including feeding/bedding up, worming/vaccinating, mucking out, tractor driving and other general stock work.

This role would suit somebody with experience and eagerness to learn, it is an exciting opportunity to join a hardworking team. Working dog would be an advantage and trailer licence is essential.
