An exciting opportunity has arisen for a stockperson to join a rapidly expanding farming business on a family owned estate in south wales. The estate has an existing in-hand mixed livestock enterprise and following a recent business review the Trustees have decided to expand the farming operation.
The business currently farms 400 acres on a mixture of hill land and lowland grass and this will be increasing to over 900 acres over the next two years including a 500 acre arable farm. Once complete the farm will be a mixed farm utilising sustainable agriculture and agroecological farming systems.
In conjunction with the management team the individual will be responsible for reviewing and restructuring as necessary the existing livestock enterprise and then carrying out all day to day management of the livestock enterprise moving forward.
This is an excellent opportunity for a well motivated, enthusiastic applicant with good people skills to become part of a progressive, forward thinking business. Knowledge and a working experience of mixed farming and agroecological farming systems is preferred although not essential as long as the individual has a willingness to learn and embrace new systems and processes.
