A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become part of a successful dairy business milking 400 spring block-calving cows near Nantwich in Cheshire.

We require a very enthusiastic and versatile Herd Manager to manage the day-day running of this large dairy unit. The successful candidate will work closely with the owner and other staff on the spring block-calving grazing system.

This exciting position has the following key responsibilities / accountabilities; staff management, milk quality, fertility planning, grassland management, training / mentoring of staff and further development of business.

This forward-thinking business has the following:

Modern 20:40 parlour with ACR’s and meters
Good cow housing for all animals
Paddock grazing – excellent track infrastructure & grassland management
Grass silage winter diet

The successful candidate will be a very enthusiastic person who leads by example and has very high standards in whatever they do. Experience in managing a small team, milking, grassland management and staff development are essential for this role. You will need to be an ambitious person who is able to use their initiative and be able to take and delegate responsibility for the key areas to enable them to run smoothly.
