We currently have a night stockperson position available at our state-of-the-art site in Derbyshire. We are looking for someone with livestock experience, who has high welfare standards, a positive attitude and is a team player.

We're looking for someone to join our lairage team at our state-of-the-art lamb abattoir in the Derbyshire countryside. The role involves unloading livestock, liaising with livestock lorry drivers, checking FCIs and licenses, feeding animals, moving sheep into pens, and marking up pen cards/ the whiteboard. Maintaining the upkeep of our sheds by bedding down, mucking out and feeding up. We can house up to 3500 sheep daily, split between two sheds and slaughter up to 2400 a day.

Animal welfare is a key priority for us - it will be your responsibility to ensure that our high standards are maintained and that each animal is treated with compassion.

The role will include periods of lone working. You'll be joining an enthusiastic team, in a rapidly growing family business, where you will be recognised for your contribution.

The role:
The roles involve liaising with livestock lorry drivers, with checking sheep moving them between pens, feeding, using a telehandler, bedding down, booking stock on to computer system, completing movement licenses, completing pen cards and unloading livestock lorries.

Working Monday to Thursday 14:00 hrs to 12:00 and 4 hours on a Sunday.

Up to £31,000 annual salary plus overtime at £14.50 per hour, depending on experience.
