Job Details
We have new contract vacancy for an enthusiastic experienced herdsperson to join a family farming operation between Chard and Taunton in Somerset.
This 330 cow herd of Holsteins calving AYR and yielding 9,250 litres on 2 x milking via a 32 x 32 Westfalia herringbone parlour with ACR’s Auto ID and backing gate. 2 milkers are in the parlour at all times.
The herd is coventionaly managed with grazing practised during summer months, and while housed in cubicles receive a TMR to compliment out of parlour feeders.
The appointed person will need to be fully experienced with AI and take control of the fertility programme along with a fortnightly vet routine. Foot trimming is conducted by an outside contractor.
