PROGRESSION TO HERD MANAGER WITH TARGETTED TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

We are seeking an experienced individual whom is able to become part of the management team immediately. This is an exciting role with a clear path to managing the herd within a specified timescale, ideally within 2 years!

The farm is located in an elevated position in a picturesque setting with excellent road and rail links to Crewe, Stoke, Manchester and beyond. Work life balance is key to this role and we would hope the person integrates in the local community.

Key farm facts as follows

  • •    Pedigree Hol cows milked 2x per day achieving circa 10,000 litres. 
  • •    Summer/Autumn calving profile with cows out to graze during the spring and summer months.
  • •    Sexed semen with 150 replacements reared each year.
  • •    In house AI and maintenance foot trimming
  • •    Over 400 acres
  • •    Modern herringbone parlour 25:50

Key responsibilities of the role will be: herd health and fertility, staff management, procedures and protocols, milking on a rota, vet routines, grazing management, feed allocations, breeding and all other aspects of management of the farm. You will work closely with the active farm owner.

A full Training package is available with the farmer happy to meet the cost of courses and off and on farm training.
