Role: Event Operations Manager
Reporting to: Head of Operations


The Events Operations Manager will work across a number of Agiconnect’s flagship events, awards and conferences including LAMMA, CropTec, the British Farming Awards and the recently acquired Rural Portofio. We are looking for someone who has solid experience of organising and running events to join the growing team. This role will be working alongside the Operations Support Manager and reporting to the Head of Operations.  

The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking with good operation and management skills and a strong team player.

Key responsibilities

  • Successfully plan and execute successfully all operational and logistical elements for exhibitions in consultation with the Head of Operations, Head of Events, Operations Support Manager and Sales teams.
  • Overseeing event delivery - with end-to-end accountability for operational management of all events including customer journeys and improving onsite experience.
  • To be on site during the build-live-break of the major events.
  • To work evenings and weekends as required for events.
  • Conduct site visits and ensure venues are fit for purpose alongside Head of Operations 
  • In the absence of Operational Support Manager update show floor plans and layout plans. 
  • Assist with the production of Exhibitor Manuals and Information sheets, to help clients to plan their participation at the event.
  • Project managing events and control costs to deliver within budget.
  • Arrange judging process, trophy ordering, rehearsals and table plans for physical awards dinners
  • To provide a high-quality customer focused service for all stakeholders, colleagues across the business and externally
  • To form and develop excellent working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Analyse event operations post shows and prepare and implement recommendations for improving operational efficiencies on future events alongside Head of Operations.
  • Support the Head of Operations to manage the event operations budgets and P&L

About you

  • Three years’ experience of delivering and managing successful events that include exhibitions and awards
  • Proactive and takes initiative by being able to identify problems, research and evaluate options creatively and innovatively 
  • Self-motivator and team player 
  • Confident decision-making, thought leadership and a focus on finding solutions and achieving results by taking accountability and ownership of decisions made
  • Effective and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Management: ability to oversee/manage multiple products. 
  • Keeping within the budget set. 
  • Ability to network and liaise with internal and external stakeholders trade bodies, associations and commercial clients. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. 
  • Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD is helpful. 
  • Full knowledge of creative, logistical, technical, operational and production procedures
  • Calm, resilient, and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Experience of balancing the needs and demands of internal and external stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver internal and external objectives for team KPI achievement
