We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Construction Sales Representative to join our Scot JCB depot in Muir of Ord. This role involves maintaining strong relationships with current clients and approaching potential customers with the aim of building new relationships.

Scot JCB has been supplying and servicing JCB machinery throughout Scotland and the North of England for over 50 years. We sold our first machine in 1956 and took on the franchise two years later. Since then we have grown into a highly specialised machinery distribution company operating through a network of 17 depots from Fraserburgh in the North East of Scotland to Carnforth in Lancashire. Scot JCB is the largest JCB distributor in the UK and we pride ourselves on providing our customers with world class service.
 
This role involves:

  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with new and existing customers
  • Generating new business through customer visits, phone calls and answering web enquiries
  • Using our customer relationship management system to record customer visits, potential prospects, sales, and lost orders
  • Representing Scot JCB at demonstrations to buyers
  • Effectively handling customer issues and working to find the best solution
  • Selling used equipment
  • Carrying out used equipment reports both in the field and in the depot
  • Responsibility for quotations, cost build-ups and profitability of deals
  • Delivering machine installation and familiarisation training on site
  • Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets (targets are based on machine volume and extended warranty packages sold)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working in the construction industry and be familiar with plant machinery
  • Relevant sales experience
  • Negotiation skills covering price, costs, delivery, and specifications with buyers
  • Presentation and demonstration experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good understanding of the importance of excellent customer service
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office packages and IT systems
