Due to the impending retirement of the existing head shepherd, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and ambitious person to lead a team of experienced and dedicated shepherds on behalf of Stanford Sheep, a joint venture of Lord Rayleigh’s Farms Ltd.

The position will involve taking overall responsibility for the day to day management of the enterprise as well as having input into the strategic direction of the business, which cares for 5000 hefted Beulah ewes, extensively grazing the 5000ha ring-fenced Stanta MOD Training area, North of Thetford. The farm is in the Breckland SSSI which is highly regarded for its environmental and conservation value.

Applicants must have good communication skills, be self-motivated and an organised team player with a valid UK driving license and working dogs.

An attractive salary, commensurate with experience, will be offered with the addition of housing if required.
