Assistant Herdsperson

We have a new vacancy for an assistant herdsperson on a family farm near Uttoxeter on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border.

Working alongside the head herdsperson you will be milking the 350 cows through a 24/48 parlour. The autumn calving herd are currently averaging 9500 litres with a TMR ration in the winter and summer grazed. In addition to the milking, you would be expected to be able to manage the unit while the head person is off, be involved in all herd health matters and other general tasks as required.
