Summary of Role

To supervise a group of prisoners in our Horticulture enterprises, we have various greenhouses, poly tunnels and outdoor fields where we produce seasonal produce for the prison kitchens and farm shop. The job holder may also be asked to cover groups on Land Based Activities during annual leave if they are competent in that field. Land Based Activities also operate a Waste Management Unit, a Farm Shop and a Livestock Enterprise. 

As per the job description the job holder will ensure tools are returned at the end of the morning or afternoon sessions and that prisoners have the correct PPE whilst in work. The candidate would benefit from experience in the Horticulture sector and have a passion for Horticulture due to the scale of production involved.
