About our organisation

The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.

We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. We couldn't do any of this without our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world where it’s needed the most.

About the opportunity

Farming is changing. To respond to the climate, nature and health crises the Soil Association is expanding its team of specialist advisors. Central to achieving our ambition to make agroecology mainstream in the UK by 2030 and increase the area of organic land we are looking for individuals who are passionate about nature friendly farming. You will join a expert, passionate team delivering across a comprehensive programme of projects by engaging with and providing advice and information to the farming sector. These are varied roles which can include visiting farms to help measure and assess their environmental performance, presenting to agri-food businesses, co-designing on-farm trials or drafting a technical article for the farming media. You will share our understanding of the interconnectedness of the health of soil, plants, animals and humanity and be passionate about your role in supporting farmers and growers to embrace and manage change.
