We are currently recruiting for an Estates Supervisor to supervise our friendly team of Estates Assistants.

Founded in 1968 by Peter Hunt, Bransby Horses has grown significantly over the last ten years and is today is one of the UK’s leading equine welfare organisations. Our mission is to create positive impact on the lives of horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and we continue to do this through our core objectives; rescue, rehabilitation, care and advice and learning.

Role Purpose

The Estates team provides high quality care of land at the Bransby site covering 600 acres, this includes herbicide use, fertiliser application & nutrient management, grass drilling, manure management, tree health and infrastructure management such as fencing replacement and trackway maintenance. The Estates department are responsible for providing healthy, sustainable grassland and a suitable living environment for upwards of 300 horses. This is crucial to the organisations ability to provide sustainable care to rescued equines in line with the organisations vision, values and strategic aims.

The full time (37.5 hours) Supervisor will oversee the work carried out by the team to ensure the land is maintained to a high standard, efficiently and in line with relevant regulations. In partnership with our farm management team, the supervisor will work with all equine teams to deliver and develop key areas of land care and equine support, to ensure that our land and environment meets the needs of our equines.

The Ideal Candidate

The Estates Supervisor must have at least 3 years’ agricultural experience including; knowledge of grassland management , demonstrable skills in using and managing of a range of modern farm machinery, knowledge of soil management, site maintenance and a strong knowledge of health and safety in an agricultural environment. You should have excellent communication skills and at least 1 years’ previous supervisory experience; including managing workloads and developing a team. Relevant qualifications in farm machinery, agriculture and/or land/estates management is desirable.
