Position: Graduate Rural Chartered Surveyor
Location: Knutsford, Cheshire; Leeds West Yorkshire; Edinburgh Scotland
Salary: £35,000

An opportunity to join an extremely successful company, which has grown organically over the last 15 years, to be a market leader in providing chartered surveying and related services to the Utilities and Renewables sector.

The company prides itself on its’ commitment to professional development which underpins its’ ability to deliver a highly professional, bespoke service for clients that far exceeds market expectations.  This busy role, where two days are never the same, is pivotal in supporting the Managing Director and Qualified Chartered Surveyor in the businesses’ Chartered Surveying department.

The ideal Graduate Chartered Surveyor will be expected to:

  • work with a busy, dynamic and well respected Managing Director and Qualified Surveyor, in a fast moving challenging environment
  • be conscientious and flexible in their approach given the businesses diverse stakeholder base
  • be a good negotiator and communicator that always has time for clients, subcontractors, fellow professionals and other intermediaries
  • be prepared to work away from home and in a lone worker environment 

The ideal Graduate Chartered Surveyor will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience or an interest in the utilities industry is beneficial, but not vital 
  • Be working towards an MRICS qualification in the rural sector is essential
  • An adaptable approach and a willingness to pick up tasks quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good presentational skills being comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Well presented, professional, organised and motivated
  • A pro-active self-starter with the ability to work to tight deadlines 
  • Flexibility on hours of work is essential 
  • Clean Driving Licence a must

The role is based in either our Knutsford office, Leeds office or Edinburgh office with candidates needing to be located close by. 

The offices offer excellent opportunities with a mix of experience advising in commercial property situations, valuation, negotiation and settlement for the acquisition of rights, project management and compulsory purchase. Also with a wide number of contacts in the industry FGP Limited is able to second staff to  complete all areas of training and experience
