Job Summary
We require an enthusiastic team player to join the Award-Winning family run dairy enterprise to assist the running of a Holstein herd of high yielding cows in West Sussex, near Petworth.

Job Skills
Key responsibilities will include milking the herd twice a day, basic record keeping, some AI and some foot trimming- training available if needed. (Routine foot trimming by outside contractor).  General stock work.

Job Description
The vacancy offers a range of options as herdsperson on a well-staffed unit with 200 pedigree cows, which are high yielding and averaging in excess of 11,000 litres. The cows are TMR fed and housed on deep sand cubicles. The cows calve all year round. This farm is driven by their own high standards and the requirements of a supermarket milk contract. The milking parlour is a newly refurbished Dairymaster 18:18 with ACR’s with a new ADF system. A new heat detection system has been installed (SenseTime). This vacancy would be suitable for someone wishing to further their dairying career and gain more experience as part of a team or be suitable for an experienced contractor, we are happy to discuss all options.

Accommodation - This vacancy offers a spacious 3-bedroom farmhouse, available in a pleasant spot on the farm grounds. The house is in good order and is available free from rent, rates, and council tax.

Location – The farm is between Petworth and Billingshurst which are 2 miles and 6 miles away respectively. They both have excellent schools, pubs, and a variety of shops.

Remuneration – Subject to age, experience, and days off

Time off – A range of options for the candidate, presently 120-days per contract year. This can be discussed to suit the candidate.
