We are looking for a general farm worker on our 420-cow autumn calving dairy. The farm is located on the beautiful Dorset coast with a good existing team, combining youth and enthusiasm. The farm is part of the wider Holmes Farms business offering progression opportunities for quality candidates.

The role will include responsibility for feeding the dairy cows on a daily basis, cubicle hygiene, some milking, and tractor work, as well as farm and machinery maintenance. The farm is equipped with modern machinery and facilities. Feeding is completed with a Massey 6615, JCB 526-56 and Keenan MF400. Milking is in a 36:36 rapid exit milking parlour, whilst the cubicle shed is fitted with auto scrapers.

The herd targets 8000l of high fat and protein milk utilising as much forage as possible including grazing. Herd replacements are reared on the farm and all beef from the dairy are reared. There is the opportunity to get involved with all farm tasks and the role can be tailored slightly to suit an individual’s interests.
