Salary: £22,149 to £24,948 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance. Salary with expected overtime around £32,000 per annum.

This role is an opportunity for an early career applicant or someone with experience who would like to work in a busy farm environment. You will join a young dynamic team and work primarily in the Youngstock department but may be needed in other areas of the farming business through the year. The role is a mixture of machinery based work and hands-on animal care.

The role requires confidence with livestock, the ability to operate modern machinery, excellent team-working skills and an ability to follow farm procedures. Training can be provided in some of these areas and a willingness to learn and adhere to our high standards of animal care is most important.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. This post will work a minimum 36.25 hours per week plus regular overtime paid at x 1.5 rate for any hours worked over 36.25 per week and at x 2 rate for bank holidays and university closure days. Hours worked by rota averaging 5 days out of 7 including early mornings, some evenings and regular weekends. The current rota is 10 days on 4 days off, with the four days off being alternate Friday to Monday. Job share arrangements may be considered.
