Reporting directly to the CFO, having responsibility for the delivery of timely and accurate monthly management accounts.  The role holder will also assist with providing further management information in the form of regular reports and analysis.

Working closely with senior management to also provide ad-hoc and general accounting support where necessary.

The role will form part of a finance team serving three key business units, with combined revenues of +£45m.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Production of monthly accounts for at least one business unit
  • Conduct variance analysis to forecast, budget and prior periods
  • Investigate and report variances to management
  • Balance sheet reporting and analysis
  • Assist with all financial planning including budgets and 3 year plans
  • Analyze the trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics such as sales, expenditures, and profit margin.
  • Supporting senior management with general accounting queries
  • Responding to various information requests
  • Support for audit and tax queries
  • •Provide support and analysis for any potential acquisitions or disposals   

Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Highly advanced excel skills
  • It is required that the individual can demonstrate an expertise in P&L management, budget development, clear and accurate financial reporting and underlying core skills in general accounting controls
  • Strong business acumen and understanding
  • Strategic awareness
  • Service-oriented personality
  • Strong communication skills (ability to interpret financial information to non-finance people)
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • High attention to detail
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, with ability to come up with own ideas and work autonomously
