The Role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Planning Analyst to join our growing company on a 12 month fixed term contract. 
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have responsibility for the delivery and maintenance of reporting solutions for the finance team and wider management.  The vast majority of these solutions will be built in excel but there will also be scope to create solutions within supporting systems such as Salesforce. You will collaborate with other senior finance partners to provide solutions to reporting needs or issues.  Assist with analysis of key trends, KPI measures and dashboards, critically analysing business performance and providing key insights to aid decision making. 
The role will provide support to three key business units, with combined revenues of £45m.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Analyse the trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics such as sales, expenditures, and profit margin.
  • Develop and continually improve processes relating to budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecast
  • Driving to automate and streamline the financial reporting cycle
  • Implement a business intelligence tool and dashboard reports
  • Develop and maintain financial models in excel and analyse them to support strategic initiatives
  • Support finance team/CFO with data-driven analysis
  • Systems financial data validation
  • Cashflow modelling and forecasting
  • Provide support and analysis for any potential acquisitions or disposals
  • Provide analysis and advice to support the strategy of delivering top-line sales growth and effective pricing strategies
  • Ad-hoc business performance reporting

About You:

  • Finalist or Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Highly advanced excel skills with proven track record of building financial models
  • It is required that the individual can demonstrate an expertise in P&L management, budget development, clear and accurate financial reporting and underlying core skills in general accounting controls
  • Strong business acumen and understanding
  • Strategic awareness

  • Strong communication skills (ability to interpret financial information to non-finance people)
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • High attention to detail
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Self-starter, with ability to come up with own ideas and work autonomously
