We are looking for a skilled agricultural engineer to join our team in Kelso. As a service engineer with Scot Agri you will visit a variety of customer sites throughout the area to carry out maintenance, repairs and services on our customers machines to a high standard.

This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise and develop your engineering skills in a varied and interesting role. 

Salary: £32,000 basic plus competitive overtime rates and bonus

Scot Agri provides machinery sales, service, and parts from JCB, Massey Ferguson, Valtra, HORSCH, Ktwo, and more across our nine agricultural depots. We pride ourselves on offering unrivalled customer service and industry leading response times.

This role involves:

  • Repairing and maintaining machines on customer’s sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer’s specification
  • Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily
  • Accurately ordering of your parts and working closely with the parts department.
  • Working closely with the service supervisor
  • Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as required - in conformance with manufacturer’s specification and any regulations affecting their use
  • Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant experience and qualifications. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ qualifications
  • Experience in Agricultural plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment 
  • Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers
  • Good IT skills 
  • A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
