The Role:

A new opportunity to be part of a successful high-performing dairy enterprise. You will be involved with managing a 450 cow Holstein herd on an Arla 360 contract, achieving top class standards in the areas of herd health and welfare, fertility and general husbandry.

The Farm:

The herd is summer seasonal calving, milked 3 times a day through a new 40:40 GEA parlour. We aim to grow top quality grass silage on a multicut system, together with maize silage, on 750 acres. We feed the cows a high forage TMR diet to optimise milk yields and cow health. As a closed herd, we rear all our own replacement heifers on farm.

The Successful Candidate:

This is a “hands-on” management role where you will be required to work with a team of seven in all aspects of the dairy including milking, calving, foot trimming, AI, medicine treatments/vet routine, farm maintenance, youngstock management and tractor yard work.

  • Passionate about animal welfare
  • Organisational skills and planning
