You will provide nutritional expertise for this successful feed business and their loyal customer base by heading up the technical decisions on what goes into a diet and the quality of the end product. Your knowledge of production animal nutrition will lead and inspire a team of junior nutritionists who are hungry to learn more and further their knowledge.
Working with this highly successful family business - that is still growing, you will become part of the senior team who are passionate about delivering the highest level of nutritional guidance, the highest quality products with the highest level of customer service. Supplying not only the independent farmer, this business also contract manufactures feed for other businesses and producers - they have an enviable reputation for listening to their customers and delivering on farm results.
The Senior Animal Nutritionist will have an excellent eye for detail, a comprehensive knowledge of monogastric and ruminant species and their requirements as well as excellent team leadership and communication skills. They will be passionate about staying on the crest of the wave of nutritional developments to ensure that their diets and feeds are a cut above the rest.
Requirements:
- Degree of higher in a relevant subject, eg Animal Nutrition
- Membership of the Feed Advisors Register Scheme (AIC FAR).
- Ideally 5-10 years experience in a nutritional role
- Knowledge of feed legislation and industry assurance schemes.
- Excellent animal nutrition and production knowledge with a strong understanding of performance data and KPI's
- Competent using feed software, interpreting data and applying to practical situations
- Up to date knowledge of farming practices and challenges
- Awareness of costings and pricing
