Experienced Herdsperson

After being in the role for 10 years, our herdsperson has been drafted into his country’s army, meaning we have a highly responsible position for an experienced replacement, as an individual, or with a partner. The family run farm in Mid Hampshire is currently milking 270 pedigree Holsteins through five De-Laval robots with drafting gate, automatic scrapers, cubicles, TMR fed resulting in a current herd average of 9000 litre. The cows also have access to summer grazing via an automated grazing gate. All records are through the Delpro Management System coupled to Uniform.

The suitable person will have the day-to-day control of the cows, all herd health requirements including AI along with liaising with the vet, maintaining herd records and basic maintenance of the robots. Ideally the person will have previous robotic experience, however training will be provided if necessary. This is an excellent position for someone wanting to work within a diverse family business who are keen to push the herd on to the next level.
