Herd Manager

We have a new 365 day contract vacancy for an experienced Herd manager, to take day to day management on a family managed dairy farm near Sherborne Dorset, Milking 450 pedigree Holsteins.

The farm runs 3 units milking around 2,000 cows. This green field site has a Fullwood 28 x 28 rapid exit Herring bone with ACR’s, and excellent handling facilities. Cows when housed are in modern sand bedded cubicles and fed a TMR through-out the winter and to supplement summer grazing.

This unique 365 day contract can suit a single person, couple or 2 people with remuneration to suit. Assistance is on farm at all times.

RMS is utilised to manage the breeding and fertility.

A contract foot trimmer is engaged to do all the foot trimming.

A very competitive salary to go along with a new house on farm that will be available in August.
