Salary: £27,707.28 - £36,172.26 per annum 
Based at our Brooksby Campus

The SMB Group is a highly successful FE college, formed through the merger of Stephenson College and Brooksby Melton College. We are an innovative and highly responsive centre for education and training with campuses in Coalville, Melton Mowbray and Brooksby. 

The SMB Group, is benefiting from the DFE funding to be able to transform the college facilities and provide brand new resources for the Land based department.  

We are looking to recruit a person who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in Horticulture to join the SMB Group on a full time basis. 

Using your specialist knowledge and experience you can develop a career which incorporates the practical elements of Horticulture to help the future generations into a career. The role will incorporate onsite visits to carryout observations and complete progress reviews. The successful candidate will also support the apprentices during their college training days in the classroom and on the college grounds, occasionally taking students off site to participate in industry related trips. 

As a trainer you will be passionate about sharing your knowledge and skills, be a clear communicator, be flexible and be able to plan and deliver training.

With an 850 acre countryside estate, our students get all the hands-on experience they need to build a success career in the industry.

Working as part of the Land based team you will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses. You will possess an excellent knowledge and understanding of Horticulture and be able to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques. 

As well as your relevant experience and current knowledge, you will also be willing to obtain a relevant Assessors qualifications (TAQA) and have the opportunity to achieve a teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if you do not already possess one.
