Good communication skills will be the key to success in this role. As the company's local representative it will be your responsibility to build relationships with farmers in your territory and use your negotiation skills to negotiate a fair price for the purchase of their crops.

You won't just buy from farmers, you will also advise them on how they can improve their crop yield and sell them the products and services needed to do so.

You must have a strong arable background, good commercial acumen and knowledge of the grain markets as it will be your job to assess the quality of crops and assign a fair market value to them.

The role:

  • Negotiating crop prices and terms with farmers
  • Crop inspections to ascertain quality
  • Keeping track of grain market and prices
  • Provide advice and sell products such as seed and fertiliser
  • Prospecting - identify new customers

What you will have:

  • Strong arable background and crop knowledge
  • Agricultural sales experience (preferably on farm)
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Planning and organisation skills
  • Proactive and ambitious to succeed
  • FACTS qualified (Ideal)
  • Previous experience as a Farm Trader (Ideal)
