We are looking for a positive, driven and experienced herdsperson to join our young team on a new dairy enterprise in South Leicestershire. Key responsibilities will include milking, foot trimming, herd health & fertility, grazing management, general stock husbandry tasks and the day-to-day running of the herd. The farm currently milks 300 cows with plans to further increase numbers to 380 in 2018. The herd is mainly block calved in late spring and is made up of robust Friesian X cattle
producing milk on a premium solids contract. Making the most from forage the focus will be on profitable, sustainable milk production with emphasis on high herd welfare.

We are looking for:
- A flexible and positive attitude

- AI certificate (pref)
- Foot trimming experience/certificate
Attitude and willingness to learn is essential, training will be offered to the right person for essential skills. There is an emphasis on continuous personal development and active involvement in a number of dairy discussion groups is encouraged.
