The farm is in North-West Kent and has a 300 milking herd with 160 heifers and 55 calves. The dairy herd is part of an overall farming estate covering 1,600 hectares, with the arable, 200 beef, hops and vines covered by other teams.
The farm team of 5; a herd manager, an assistant herd manager with responsibility for the calves, an assistant herd manager with responsibility for the TMR feeding and machinery, and then the role of Herdsperson. The current herdsperson has responsibility for the milking and milking plant.
The role of the Herdsperson is typical of a dairy farm such as milking, yard work, TMR feeding, calving, and looking after calves up to 10 weeks old.
We are seeking an applicant with experience of milking, yard work duties, TMR feeding, tractor worker, heat detection and calving.
4 bedroom centrally heated property, with all rates and council tax covered by the employer
This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.
