40 hours per week for 52 weeks per year

Grade 10:11,  Salary £29,943: £35,226  per annum

(subject to qualifications and relevant experience)

Ruskin Mill College

Ruskin Mill College provides innovative and experiential education and training for young people marginalized by disadvantage, exclusion or special learning needs.  Inspired by Rudolf Steiner and John Ruskin, the College actively promotes through craftsmanship and entrepreneurship the traditional economic activities of the Cotswolds.

Applications are invited for the following post that will be based in Nailsworth, near Stroud, Gloucestershire. Accommodation/accommodation allowance will be provided as part of this role.


The post holder will be expected to manage the day-to-day running of the farm and farm shop and to organise appropriate work for students and staff, using biodynamic principals and methodologies and integrate them into all aspects of the operation of the farm.


You will also be responsible for the health and welfare of all stock on the farm, which includes livestock breeding, rearing and finishing and also to be responsible for production of vegetables, fodder and cereal production for farm and educational use. The Biodynamic Farm Manager will also oversee the teaching and learning delivered at Gables Farm.


Applicants for this post should have:

Biodynamic Farming experience and training is desired, however, training (Ruskin Mill Trust Biodynamic Training Programme) will be provided should the successful applicant not be fully qualified. It would be desirable that the applicant  has experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults with special needs, challenging behaviours and mental health difficulties, this would be advantageous but not a requirement


Ruskin Mill Trust supports staff development and provides a large amount of training; all staff will be provided with an interactive induction, which enables staff to experience the student journey.
