In 1969 Townson Tractors Ltd began trading at Newton-In-Bowland, Lancashire, selling and repairing tractors locally and internationally. By 1983 the family run business had acquired the Ford tractor franchise. Continued growth prompted the move to the present, larger site at Hellifield in the spring of 1985.

Still family run and in partnership with New Holland tractors (formerly Ford tractors), Townson Tractors Ltd is a main dealer for JCB agricultural products. Their list of franchises continues to grow and can be viewed on the partners page of this site.
